Congratulations to Harlem Knights hurler Van Lingle Mungo who took six out of seven first place votes to easily win the pitcher of the year voting. Left-hander Lefty Gomez, who split 1937 between Brooklyn and pennant-winning Milton, finished second. Rookie Cliff Melton received the other first place vote. The totals:
