After all that concern about Claude Willoughby, Feller goes and throws a no-hitter.
All it takes is some encouragement from the Blackfish.

We here in North Dallas think that Feller kid might have a future in baseballing.

Now Feller's name can join the pantheon of greats like Ed Morris and Jim Lindsey.
9-22-1929 Ed Morris MON vs. HER, 4-0 5-19-1930 Jim Lindsey PAW vs. MIS, 4-0 4-4-1931 Rube Walberg FRE vs SAH, 6-0 7-7-1932 Lefty Gomez SAH vs. HAT, 8-0 (perfect game) 6-14-1937 Johnny Allen STL vs. NDA, 6-1 8-21-1938 Bob Feller STL vs. FRE, 2-0

Even more interesting, assuming the following list is correct (with some exceptions it excludes multiple-pitcher no-hitters, which I believe are no longer counted no-hitters by MLB): www.retrosheet.org/nohit_chrono.htm It appears that Mr. Feller is the only pitcher of a DBS no-hitter who also threw one in real life. No, not even Gomez (which frankly surprises me.) Some future in baseballing indeed.
