A few things got me thinking about the NBA recently. I had mostly tuned it out, due to a combination of the Pistons hopelessness, and general dislike of the superstars in the league (Kobe, LeBron, but even Dwyane Wade, Shaq, Melo).
But I've somewhat had an epiphany, and realized that its best to stop thinking of the NBA as "basketball" or a "team sport".
The NBA is sports entertainment, and a reality show. It shares more with the WWE, Survivor, and Women's Tennis, than it does with the NFL, NHL, and NCAA sports.
The NBA is all about it's Divas, entourages, and feuds.
Wins and Losses matter less than Respect, or Dis-Respect. And it's ALWAYS somebody else's fault, because everyone is entitled to a starting role, starting minutes, playing at the end of the game, getting your quota of shots, and winning a championship.
Kournikova was the hottest tennis player in the world without ever coming close to winning anything. This is where the NBA is heading.
I don't really have time for another sport to add to my docket, but it's made me at least take notice of the "Association" due to the comic relief of the entitled millionaire beauty queens.

In no other league do we have as big of a problem with broke millionaires either. Just a sad freak show of entitled prima donnas.
