• Stat nugget factory Baseball-Reference presented, for whatever reason, a list of pitchers in baseball history who threw at least 1,000 career innings and had a WHIP of 1.5 or greater. This is a bad list to be on, but topping the list is former Tigers submarining lefty reliever Chief Hogsett. You might not remember him, but ask your great grandpappy. Hogsett pitched nine seasons for the Tigers from 1929-36 and 1944, going 63-87 with a 5.02 ERA and a 1.646 WHIP. Hogsett's name is Cherokee for "Yorman Bazardo."
