It looks like Chris laid some bait and I am biting.....
As a child I sense Maude was a worthless feminazi. I actually use to have nightmares of Bea Arthur chasing me down the westbound I-94 on ramp at Moross (7 Mile Rd). I still shudder and recoil thinking of those childhood nightmares.
As for Archie Bunker, I think the character is quite repugnant. Whereas the lefties on the show are depicted as articulate, Bunker is portrayed as simply a fool who's contra-left arguments are fodder for jokes. All in the Family was pure leftist bile through and through. Norman Lear simply used the Archie Bunker to make anyone opposed to the left as a boob.
As for FDR, he was horrible president and the long-term affects of his policies are being felt to this day. He firmly believed that the state was the country and that state is prior to society. Many of social, political, and economic problems we have lived with since he became chief executive in March 1933. FDR created a federal system so tangled into the life’s of ordinary Americans it unimaginable.

Things haven't changed much. TV today still, even moreso, tries to force the left-wing agenda into your living room. You WILL accept homosexuality, you WILL accept PC, you WILL accept that worshipping God is evil.
And for FDR, his policies pointed us to where we are today. If you reward people for doing nothing, they will continue to do nothing.
