To whom are you referring - Carlos Pena or Raul Casanova?

I'm guessing Pena, but certainly it's a surprise that anyone would want Casanova.

I remember going to Milwaukee a few years back and the fans there raved about Casanova and couldn't figure out why we let him go. In the second game of the double header I went to he got picked off three times and hit into two double plays. I didn't here anything else good to be said about him.

Remember when there was a period of time in the early-to mid 90's when the Tigers were going to come up with the next great catcher - Rich Rowlands, Phil Clark (well, to be fair, they didn't know what to make him - C?, 1B?, OF?), and Raul Casanova? And they all stunk. Bad.
At least now, no one claims that that the Tigers have a hot catching prospect.
Quick fact that probably only interests me - In Casanova's best hitting season he hit .260 with 11 HR.
He would not make any DBS club...well, maybe Pawtucket ; )

A'S-REDS TRADE: Oakland traded right-hander Kirk Saarloos to Cincinnati, giving him a chance to win a spot at the back of the rotation. The A's got minor-league reliever David Shafer. Each team also received a player to be named. Isn't there a rule against having to sets of double-vowels in your name?

Actually, to slightly deviate from this tack, it seems the Tigers signed LHP Joey Eischen to a minor league deal.
If you really dig deep in the memory banks, you may remember him from the '96 Tigers - he (and John Cummings) were traded to Detroit for Chad Curtis.
Anyway, in a 10-year career, he is 11-9 with 300 IP. Total.

And there it is - "bookkeeper" is the only word in English with three consecutive sets of double letters. Not like anyone needs to know that, but now you do.
